Zip Signs goes 3D
Zip Signs has invested in and offers SolidWorks 3D CAD solutions to its clients. This enables Zip Signs to produce sophisticated part and assembly designs in 3D. SolidWorks has an extensive feature set, as well as design analysis and a wide range of drawing tools.
SolidWorks is a 3D solid modeling platform, playing a critical role in modern product development and providing the basis for design and manufacturing of any part or assembly. Here at Zip Signs we can create complex parts and large assemblies. SolidWorks allows for increased detailing, resulting in improved visualization and communication. It eliminates design interference issues and checks design functionality and performance, without the need for physical prototypes. The software connects the 3D modelling directly to the drawing file, so that if the model is changed, the drawing automatically updates with it. The automatic associativity means that the solid model is always synchronized with the 2D drawing file. 3D models and assemblies can also be instantly analyzed for solid mass properties and volume.
With SolidWorks, Zip Signs is equipped with powerful modeling capabilities that can handle your most complex design projects. We can turn ideas and concepts into virtual 3D models. With weldments we can develop structural supports and frames. Using the weldments design functionality we can design the framework in 3D and then add in the extrusion profiles, completing the structure. The software comes with numerous pre-defined extrusion profiles and we can generate custom profiles. Base plates, gussets and end caps can be added. The finished drawing file can include BOM’s, cut lists and other manufacturing documentation.
We also extremely proud to announce that one of our senior designers, Frank Berger has been designated a Certified Solidworks Expert (CWSE). This is an incredible accomplishment that has taken Frank hundreds of hours of training both at work and at home.
